The Court Lane Learning Squad is designed to help celebrate and support teaching and learning throughout both Court Lane Academies – this is through the eyes and voices of the children.
We hold regular meetings, working together to visit classrooms, undertaking learning walks. We see it as a very supportive process, giving ownership of the learning environment to both teachers and children. By gathering views and opinions from their peers, the squad is able to then reflect on those and inform teachers from their perspective.
This is a positive drive that has an impact on our ‘Journey to Excellence’ in both Court Lane Academies.
Children from all year groups are are selected by their class to be part of the Learning Squad. This is a role of responsibility with each elected member representing the views of their class. Elections take place at the beginning of the academic year and take a variety of approaches depending upon the age of the children. The Learning Squad is made up of children from both the Infant and Junior School who meet once a term.
